Every day, 8,000 girls and women around the world are victims of female genital mutilation (FGM). No cultural or religious beliefs can ever justify such atrocities on women's dignity and physical integrity. And it's happening in our own backyard: today an estimated 500,000 girls and women in Europe are suffering from the stigmas of mutilations.
